Hotel Security
Hotel security can be a daunting challenge once you start analyzing the sheer numbers of people in a hotel. There are different cultures, backgrounds, ages, races, ethnicities and the list goes on. Additionally, were talking about a hotel where many guests expect to be treated well, relax, and enjoy their stay. If the security is too complex, time consuming, or difficult to remember guests may opt to stay somewhere else in the future.
At PMV Security Group we recognize the unique challenges hotels can pose and we have worked over the years to develop tools and services built around the concept of high quality.
The PMV Approach
PMV Security strives to ensure a highly visible and multi-layered presence at each location we serve clients.
First Factor
The first factor we look at is the candidates we select when hiring. If they don’t match our standards we move on as from our experience no matter the quality of training or managers, if they don’t fit the job the problems will show up in the future. We will conduct a background check in accordance with the laws but also contact references to get a better sense of their personality as this is key when around children.
Second Factor
The next factor is our training standards. We implement a strict basic training for all the guards and from there their advanced specialized training. This is where our security personnel work on industry standard requirements. They will be trained in all aspects of the education sector from security protocols, procedures, equipment operations and safety operations.
Third Factor
The third factor is the ‘Mystery Customer’ technique. So what is a mystery customer? Our quality team have special auditors who go out to the hotel lodging sites we operate and pretend to be a customer.
This allows our auditors the ability to monitor our security personnel without them being uptight, hesitant do anything or acting as they need to put on a performance. We can monitor our personnel in their natural state to evaluate their actions.
Customer Service
We evaluate the security guards for their level of service, communication to the customers and how well they perform the customer service requirements by the client.
Appearance
We evaluate their uniform appearance, cleanliness, missing any required equipment on their body and lastly hygiene.
Security Procedures
How accurately are they adhering to security procedures.
International Security Standards
We focus heavily on international standards at PMV Security Group and we strive to utilize the best techniques, protocols and equipment we can to ensure you get the security service. Aside from the general security standards published by ISO and other organizations we try to focus on specifically the hotel industry.
The Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) a sub-council attached to U.S. Department of State, was developed in 1985 to engage with security problems abroad. Part of their responsibility is to develop regular exchanges of information concerning security developments, to recommend security procedures, methods and security equipment. for instance
In 2016, in partnership the Loss Prevention Committee of the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA), published a Hotel Security Assessment. This applies to all hotels & temporary lodging internationally and covers not just security protocols but safety procedures & health guidelines. likewise
Have a hotel or other temporary lodging and want a security audit? Check out our security audits section for more info on audits for hotels. however
Uniform
We understand hotels can vary in their quality and also vary in their brand. The “official” security guard uniforms tend to stick out and when attempting to provide a certain type of environment this can be problematic. in conclusion
Given enough time to prepare and resources we can adapt to almost any uniform requirement that is required by clients. If there is an extremely complex design or material of course we will try to modify to adapt. after that
