Response
The security team should must assess each incident, and respond based on the situation.
Roles & responsibilities will identify personnel who will respond to emergencies with backups.
The campus internal / external notification system will activate notifying key personnel. In addition, it will send follow up information as the event occurs.
Recovery
Organizational policies and procedures must include continuity operations. In other words, the procedures keep the school going after an incident.
Resource management is essential to appropriately handle logistics during and after an incident.
The public representative should make a statement when the time is right and the incident has been contained.
Mitigation
Research and development on emergency, safety and security programs should be continually analyzed ensuring the most up-to-date methods. Therefore, the school will always be one step ahead at protecting people.
The training program must address drills, awareness, assist individuals with special needs.
Interagency collaborations are between schools and districts to compliment sharing of ideas and communication.
The school standards must have an accountability program for high-value items and equipment. For instance, general affairs team will track key equipment on the school property.
