What are Private Investigations?
Private investigations are collecting information for the purpose of an individual’s needs, desires, requests etc. Our investigators carry out a number of types of investigations and we offer a limited amount of resources to individual contracted investigations. Check out the menu for the full list of investigation types we execute at PMV Security. The biggest concern we see from clients especially in the APAC region is are our investigator’s local? The answer is yes we have local investigators and international talent. We believe that by having a diverse investigative team we can build investigative procedures and techniques from multiple perspectives providing the best quality investigations and more importantly better results for our clients.
What’s the purpose?
Individuals can be faced with incidents or circumstances in which law enforcement is unable or unwilling to assist. This is where PMV Security fills the gap to provide that assistance where otherwise none could be provided. Attorneys typically utilize private investigators during legal proceedings as by the time the case goes to court law enforcement has since stopped working the investigation. To gain any additional knowledge after law enforcement has ceased will require a private investigator.
What types do PMV Security investigate?
Our most common investigations typically are insurance fraud, thefts, and other financial fraud.
- Background Checks
- Digital Forensics
- Money Laundering
- Misappropriation of assets
- Missing Persons

Do I need a private investigation?
That can be a difficult question to answer as there are several factors that would affect the decision. The answer may not always be black and white. Ultimately you are the deciding authority however if we recommend you not initiate a private investigation it is based off our knowledge & experience. We also reserve the right the right to refuse any requests with a risk matrix that exceeds tolerable thresholds either for the client or PMV. We are always upfront about the likely possibilities but at the end of the day we cannot predict the future. We try to be as transparent about the outcomes as we possibly can so you do not have any false beliefs or hopes about the result of your investigation. We have seen several competitors who give clients a false sense of likely results before the client pays the fees and at the end of the investigation the client is left wondering what happened and why the result is so different from previous meetings. We pledge not to provide any false outcomes or misrepresent what the outcomes will likely be at the end of any investigation service. You as the client pay for the service of an investigation not a specific outcome. If we could guarantee investigation outcomes we would be more valuable than police or politicians.
