Trucking Security Requirements (TSR) Audit
Trucking Security Requirements (TSR) Audit stems the inevitable need for security in the transportation sector. Any product that is manufactured or stored in warehouses has to be able to be transported from point A to point B in order for a customer to purchase it. Security after goods leave a property significantly decreases leaving them open for exploitation. The Transported Asset Protection Agency or TAPA created several standards by which organizations can implement to assist in protecting their vehicles and goods in transit.
TAPA TSR 2020 standards address many of the security concerns when dealing with transporting assets to various locations, distributors, ports etc. The TAPA organization is made up of security professionals who specialize transportation security utilizing high-tech methods and optimal protocol measures to mitigate the risk of loss in transit. There are a series of certifications via TAPA, check out the other audit certifications we can provide as well.
Why I need this certification?
We all know security isn’t high on the radar when discussing budgets for example a furniture manufacturer. We understand that spending additional budget to meet a certification that isn’t really required to do business can be frustrating. Often times organizations don’t change security protocols until it’s too late, and a security incident has already occurred.
Don’t wait for a crisis to happen. If you operating a business in a supply chain, across any industry, we highly recommend this certification and others under our security audit section. If you have business partners outside of your country this will often times make the difference between keeping that business partner as it shows you are proactive and care about the security of your supply chain. The TSR specifies the minimum acceptable security standards for assets traveling throughout the supply chain and the methods to be used in maintaining those standards. Any failure to provide these minimum specifications could result in the control measures being compromised and increase the chances of a theft occurring.
What can you provide?
We will walk you through every step of the process, providing you a comprehensive audit addressing any deficiencies that are discovered during the process and we will work with you on the steps that need to be taken to mitigate that deficiency.
The TSR outlines the processes and specifications for Suppliers to attain TAPA compliance to the TSR on their transport operations. It is the intention of TAPA members to select Suppliers which meet or exceed TAPA TSR compliance requirements. Successful implementation of the TSR is dependent upon Suppliers and Buyers working in concert to accurately interpret, adopt and audit against these requirements.
