Construction Site Security
Construction site security pose significantly challenging problems to overcome when developing countermeasures to mitigate security risks. A construction site have several security challenges and safety challenges that many security companies simply have a problem addressing properly.
The health, safety, and environment (HSE) department plays a critical role at construction sites. The HSE manager’s role is to ensure the construction management plan has solutions to mitigate all safety, security and environmental challenges during a project.
Some construction companies supply their own security personnel. However, the vast majority contract out the requirements to companies that specialize in that area. PMV Security Group can walk you through every step of the project to determine what kind of security is optimal.

Construction Safety & Security Plan (CSSP)
We will assign a security manager who will assess the project working alongside your HSE department to develop security protocols that best fit your security needs for the construction project.
Safety Concerns
The above highlights the key points that should be in any CSSP. This emphasizes security, however there may be additional safety protocols that the on-site security force will be responsible for implementing and enforcing. A full CSSP will be much more intricately detailed in addressing all factors.
Why should security also address safety?
Many emergency incidents can happen both inside operational hours and after all construction personnel have left premises. For this reason, it is imperative the security force report any activity that occurs due to an emergency incident causing future hazards to personnel or unnecessary damage to property. Since a part of security’s responsibilities are to protect human life and damage to or loss of assets, they must respond to certain emergencies.

Why is equipment theft so prevalent?
Large construction projects can often view security as an after though underestimating the need for risk mitigation. The average construction project can have as little as 10+ vendors. In 2020, Vietnam reported 95 million USD in construction equipment loss or thefts. All it takes is one bad employee that decides they don’t make that high of a salary and they want to makes some ‘extra cash’ selling ‘pre-owned equipment’.
Construction companies that manage a project for a client may choose the cheapest vendors possible when assembling a project. If security protocols are not enforced properly, it can lead to significant problems down the line. Construction site security must be implemented across the board to be effective.
