Facility Security Requirements (FSR) Audit
Facility Security Requirements (FSR) Audit stems from the inevitable need for security standards applied to the supply chain and it’s facilities. Any product that is in warehouses cannot immediately be delivered to the next node in a supply chain. There must be secure storage and secure facilities that supply that storage. Risk of theft increases significantly the longer product or property is stored waiting for the next destination in the supply chain. The Transported Asset Protection Agency or TAPA created several standards by which organizations can implement to assist in protecting transportation and fixed structures like facilities, staging areas, or storage depots.
TAPA FSR 2020 standards address many of the security concerns when dealing with the fixed structures like previously mentioned above. The TAPA organization is made up of experts who specialize in security and research high-tech methods. There are a series of certifications via TAPA, check out the other audit certifications we can provide as well.
Why I need this certification?
We all know security isn’t high on the radar when discussing budgets for example a furniture manufacturer. Organizations will often not change policies until after a security incident occurs.
Don’t wait for a crisis to happen. If you’re operating a business in a supply chain, we highly recommend this certification. Likewise, see the others under our security audit section. If you have business partners outside of your country, this can make the difference in keeping that business partner. Additionally, it shows you are proactive and care about the security of your supply chain.
The FSR specifies the minimum acceptable security standards for transportation. Likewise, they provide standards for certification. However, failure to implement these standards can increase risk for theft.

Facility Security Requirements | FSR | TAPA
The FSR outlines the processes and specifications for Suppliers to attain TAPA compliance to the FSR for fixed locations, storage containers, and other storage areas. It is the intention of TAPA members to select suppliers which meet or exceed TAPA FSR compliance requirements. Successful implementation of the FSR is dependent upon suppliers and buyers working in concert to accurately interpret, adopt and audit against these requirements.
